Building African American Minds, Inc. welcomes Lawrence Burney, 2026 One Maryland One Book author, for a full day of programming on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Youth Workshop | 1:00–3:00 PM
BAAM Academic Center, 31 Jowite St, Easton, MD

Middle and high school students will close-listen to lyrics from Kendrick Lamar, Nas, and GoldLink, focusing on how each artist captures coming of age in a specific place. Participants will then write their own creative piece on growing up on the Eastern Shore. Free and open to all middle/high school students. Registration required.
